Only Watch Auction Collects $6 million for Charity

The fourth edition of the biennial Only Watch charity auction, held Friday at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco, raised far more than $6 million to battle muscular dystrophy. According to organizers and auction house Antiquorum, the auction room was full, although Internet and telephone bidding maintained strong final rates, which overall doubled the last results of the prior Only Watch in 2009.

International participation integrated Japan, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, the U.s. along with the Russian Federation. Ronnie Woods from the Rolling Stones was also present inside the space to help the auction.

"Only Watch is a fabulous occasion. The quantity raised by the auction has doubled to €4.five million! But what exactly is also wonderful with Only Watch is that we are all united by human warmth and solidarity," said Paul Pettavino a 15 year old teenager impacted by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy?

"Only Watch 2011 will be the fruit of a superb collaboration in between watch manufactures, partners, media, organizers?- however it is initial and foremost an excellent work done by men and women coming from very diverse horizons who joined their energies to create hope in research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy," declared Luc Pettavino, President with the Association Monegasque contre les Myopathies and Founder of Only Watch.
